Iain Peter, Executive Director
Iain Peter has held many prestigious jobs in the outdoor education field in the United Kingdom, and served as Chief Executive, Mountain Training Trust, Plas y Brenin for a decade. An internationally recognized mountain guide Iain has climbed major peaks such as Everest, Cerro Torre in Patagonia, and the Eiger North Face. He has served as Chairman of the Risk Management Committee of Outward Bound Trust UK, and he has been involved in the setting of standards, training and assessment of candidates for all UK mountaineering qualifications.
Rob Chatfield, Associate Director
Rob began his Outward Bound career as a ski mountaineering instructor in Canada. Advancing through positions of leadership, he became director of a highly innovative, US-based joint venture program of Beech Hill Hospital and Hurricane Island Outward Bound School. Rob later joined the Hurricane Island senior management team, and then became director of safety and quality, responsible for providing safety oversight for the 800-employee organization. Subsequently, he was named director of safety at Outward Bound USA, the overarching entity for OB in the United States. Rob has also served on several outside governance committees, and is a long-time adventurer and outdoor enthusiast.
