Headquartered off the coast of Maine, the Outward Bound Professional School operates in 14 locations, including some of the most breathtaking wilderness in the Eastern United States. Students have countless opportunities to explore the scenic wonders of outdoor life - from the Florida Keys to the cypress-lined shores of the Suwannee River, from the Savage Wilderness of West Virginia to the estuaries of Chesapeake Bay, from the remote Northwoods of Maine to the 3,500 islands off the coast of Maine.

Participants range from teens to adults, civic organizations to school groups, and juvenile justice providers to multinational corporations. Adventures include both sea- and land-based expeditions, from pulling boat and tall-ship sailing, to sea kayaking, backpacking, rock climbing and canoeing in the spring, summer and fall, and dog sledding, cross-country skiing, ice-climbing and snowshoeing in the winter.
