Finland

Outward Bound Finland is located in Lahti which is about 100km northeast from the capital Helsinki. OB Finland’s operational area is the whole country from the southern sea up to northern mountains in Lappland (above the Arctic circle). OB Finland also has some courses overseas.

Outward Bound Finland is positioning itself as the expert in experiential education and outdoor safety in Finland. They offer number of experiential education training courses for the outdoor instructors, teachers, youth and social workers. In addition OB Finland is doing longer projects with Finnish youth groups and focusing on preventive youth work. Classical OB courses and adventure expeditions are international courses and these courses are also run yearly.

Adventure elements available to participants in Finland include hiking in the summer time and cross-country skiing in the winter time. Finland provides amazing opportunity for kayaking and courses are run in seas, lakes and rivers during paddling season. Climbing and rappelling are used for high challenges and solos for reflection during the course.
