10.30–11.30 Keynote Speaker: Mark Evans "Connecting Cultures"
Mark is the general manager of Outward Bound Oman. He has worked for Outward Bound in Scotland and East Africa, and is a 13–year resident of the Arabian Gulf. He has completed a 55–day solo kayak journey from Musandam to Yemen, and a 28–day journey through Oman's Empty Quarter.

Nathan is a former Outward Bound New Zealand instructor who has a career based in adventure. He has spent nearly a decade as a professional adventure racer. He captained the New Zealand Adventure Racing team—winners of the 2000 & 2005 World Adventure Racing Championship. He is a recent winner of the Abu Dhabi Adventure Challenge. His talk will highlight his adventures and the importance of Outward Bound in his life and to the students with whom he works.

Barry is a member of the International Olympic Committee, and a member of the gold medal–winning 1976 New Zealand Olympic field hockey team. He will present an overview of the work that the International Olympic Committee is undertaking in the area of youth and education, the similarity in the values and philosophy of both the International Olympic Movement and Outward Bound and the opportunities for OB Schools around the world to work with their respective Olympic Committees to promote youth development, social and racial harmony.

Julie is the Principal of Raffles Girls School, a premier secondary school in Singapore that has maintained a 20–year working relationship with Outward Bound. Julie shares her perspective on how Outward Bound's educational philosophy is integrated into Raffles' student development roadmap.

19.30–20.30 Dinner Speaker: Matty McNair "The Secrets of Polar Travel" Matty is the owner of Northwinds Arctic Adventures. She is also a polar guide, and a former Outward Bound instructor (1974–1996) who has worked for OB in Canada & the U.S. Internationally recognized as the top woman polar guide in the world, she has journeyed to both Poles, setting several world records.

Eduardo is the president and founder of Lonesome George & Co., a social enterprise organization. He has a background in finance, management, strategic thinking, and experiential education. He is also the Co-Founder and Board President of Outward Bound Ecuador.

As an organization, the United World College movement has undergone a significant change in the last decade. The talk will focus on the purpose of the UWC movement and its structure, what the impact has been on the broader global community and the aspirations for the future. Examples from the practice at UWCSEA will be used to illustrate the powerful way in which Kurt Hahn’s philosophies are being interpreted and implemented. There will be an opportunity for discussion of the issues raised.

A former Outward Bound instructor and professional speaker, in 1982 Laurie was the first Canadian to climb Mt. Everest. His bestselling book, "To the Top of Everest," was nominated for the Children's Choice and Canadian Book of the Year for Children awards.
